Hello, my name is Sam! I am a 32-year-old Texan, and I have been a part of the Keto community since 2016.
At the tail end of 2015 I was doing some introspection about my life. I was having a difficult time in a lot of different ways, and I knew it was time to make a change. I wanted to do something that would make me happier, healthier, and give me more energy to do the things I enjoy. Thinking about where I could make the most difference, I decided to focus on my diet. I had never really put too much thought into it, but the more I researched the more I found out that proper nutrition is more than just a food pyramid poster I vaguely remembered from high school.
The food I ate could have a direct, tangible, and powerful affect on all aspects of my physical and mental health, and would be a great first step in my path towards a better life. The only problem was that all the dieting techniques I had seen either cost too much money or were extremely difficult to keep up with. I didn’t relish the idea of obsessively tracking everything I ate just to hit numbers in a spreadsheet. Not to mention, I’d have to give up some of my favorite foods for expensive healthy alternatives. Imagine my surprise when I found a diet that not only didn’t force me to avoid all the things I love, but allowed me to enjoy even more of my favorite foods without requiring me to make costly alterations!
On January 26th, 2016, I decided to go keto and it’s been the greatest health decision I’ve ever made. Over the past few years I’ve learned a lot about the science behind ketosis and how it affects my body.
When I started showing off recipes and cooking techniques on Instagram, I got a ton of support and encouragement from people who were trying and failing to sift through the myriad of recipes out there. Each stream I was getting tons of questions, suggestions, and new product suggestions.
My goal is to keep making recipes to share with others to show that this lifestyle is doable and even pretty tasty!
